Selecting the Right Flowers:
If you purchased your bouquet from Backroad Blooms, you can be sure to check off this box 😉
Keep it Clean
Fill the vase with room temperature water.
Add flower food to nourish the blooms and prolong their life.
If you want to make your own, you can use 1/2 teaspoon bleach, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 quart water, and 1 tablespoon sugar.
Trim, Trim, Trim
Trim stems at a 45-degree angle to allow for better water absorption.
Remove leaves that may be submerged in water.
Keep them Hydrated
Change the water every 2-3 days to prevent bacterial growth.
Mist flowers with water to keep them hydrated, especially in dry environments.
Find the Perfect Spot
Keep flowers away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
Avoid placing them near fruits, as ethylene gas can accelerate aging.
Enjoy Them for Years to Come
Hang flowers upside down in a dry, dark place to preserve them.
Consider using silica gel for a faster drying process.
It really is that easy to keep your bouquet looking stunning! It is hard to beat a bouquet of flowers straight from the garden, so come visit us at Backroad Blooms! Don’t be surprised if you find us sipping some cold brew coffee, enjoying the sunshine and some beautiful blooms.
